Welcome to the St. Nicholas Community Centre website!
There has been a community building at this address for many, many years, offering space for local residents to enjoy socialising, either by holding private functions, or by joining one of the many groups, clubs or churches that use the three halls.
The Centre can accommodate up to three activities at any one time as each of the rooms can be let entirely independently with w.c.’s located either, adjacent to, or within the hall. A separate kitchen, fully equipped with cooker, ‘fridge, kettles and microwave, together with a sufficient number of cups, saucers and plates etc. is attached to each hall. (Only a limited supply of cutlery is available so hirers are advised to bring along their own supplies.) Disabled, unisex, lavatories are on site in both buildings and ramped entrances enable wheelchair users to access the buildings and the outdoor spaces.
We are extremely fortunate in having a wonderful, fenced garden that provides a fabulous, additional space for use by our hirers. During term-time this facility is constantly in use by Sunbeams Pre-School, as there is an area of safety surfacing sheltered by an all-weather canopy. Additionally, young children celebrating their birthdays at the Centre, make full use of the Wendy house and fixed play equipment on site.
If this brief introduction has wetted your appetite for more information, please view the remainder of the site, where you can get a flavour of the facilities on offer, together with an introduction to the diverse groups, clubs and churches that meet here at the St. Nicholas Community Centre.
